Abstract
Specification of fundamental requirements for ophthalmic instruments as reqards the protection of the patient's eye from light emitted from the ophthalmic instrument and directed at or into the eye for the purpose of examination. The standard does not apply to ophthalmic instruments designed to emit radiation for the treatment of the eye.
